Pretty Foot Tattoos

Foot tattoos are not only adorned by women but men too follow this fashion trend. If your work environment frowns upon tattoos, the foot is a great place to get one. Tattoos on the feet are inconspicuous and if you don't wish to share your tattoo with everyone, this is one region that is usually covered. But they can be quite painful as it is a bony region with very little fat content. They can be unisex as well, so if you wish to ink something meaningful or symbolic for your other half, both of you can get one each on the foot. This way, not everyone gets to see it and it remains a sexy secret between the two of you.

But before you decide to get inked on your foot, remember that foot tattoos are particularly painful. Also, foot tattoos require extra precautions when compared to other part of your body. The healing period for a foot tattoo is considerable. You can't cover the part of the foot which has the tattoo or anything that will rub against in constantly like socks or shoes. If you have to go out, the foot should be covered and a sunscreen lotion should be applied on it, with very less exposure to the sun. Utmost care has to be taken to keep your foot clean with regular warm water foot baths. You can't scrub your foot; it has to be patted dry. Also, they tend to fade more easily than tattoos inked on other parts of the body. So you have to keep in mind that re-inking might be required regularly to keep you tattoo constantly looking attractive and a lot of care has to be taken of the tattoo as well as your foot.

But, if you are one of those people who need striking and unique art which is less common than these tattoos is the way to go as very few people get it done and it usually stands out when on display. Also, if you are a private person and don't wish to put your personal body art on display, a tattoo on foot is a good option. Usually they are inked from the upper foot going down, some prefer ankle tattoos as well. One of the common designs that are done on the foot is stars - nautical or plain, a group of small stars starting from the upper corner of the foot till mid foot look really cool. A skeleton of the foot bones looks really cool and not at all macabre. Tribal designs, chains, skulls and flames are some common designs men prefer to ink onto their foot.

Male foot tattoos have become quite common and popular as well. To find out more about male foot tattoos, visit the following men tattoo designs gallery site to know more and get some ideas for unique male foot tattoos. Male foot tattoos are unique but require much care.

Your First Tattoo: A Look At The Most Common Tattoo Styles For Men

Deciding your first tattoo is a rewarding experience, however it isn't one that should be rushed into on a whim. You must be certain to take time to think about it carefully, since a tattoo should be a lifetime commitment. You must be fully certain that you're getting a tattoo that fits into your life. You need to think about how your tattoo will have an effect on your friends' and family's perception of you, how it will affect your current job position and future career prospects, and most importantly how you, personally, will see yourself.

Deciding On The Body Location

Once you're sure you want to continue forward, the next step is to determine body region where your tattoo should be applied. You have got many options here, as nearly any part of your body makes an acceptable canvas.

Arm tattoos are definitely the most popular choice for your first tattoo. Here you've got many decisions - full arm (also referred to as a sleeve, named for the resemblance to a full-length shirt sleeve), higher-half sleeve from shoulder to elbow, bottom-half sleeve from elbow to wrist, or one-fourth sleeve commonly from mid-upper arm to shoulder. Bigger arm pieces typically mix a number of thematic parts, while the smaller and medium-sized tattoos usually only concentrate on one thing.

The shoulder space is a common spot as well, covering the area from the joint to the rear shoulder blade. The shoulder is a common choice for smaller designs that can be easily covered when necessary.

Back tattoos are for the most bold, since this may be where the biggest tattoo can be inked. Any or all of the back is accessible, from the top of your shoulders to your waist, and around to your love handles beneath your arms. Tattoos on the back are usually made up of one large element, but can often integrate a couple aesthetic elements into a single cohesive scene as well.

The chest area is becoming a more and more well-liked as well as individuals have become more adventurous. Typically a chest tattoo is fairly large and spread full length, or is smaller and limited to the pectoral space over the heart. Like one-fourth sleeve tattoos, back tattoos are often reserved for only one look.

Other body positions such as the stomach, legs, neck, and hands are less popular areas to have work done. It is important to realize that getting body art completed on any of those areas may be troublesome to cover if necessary.

Design Styles

Once a body space and approximate size has been determined, the subsequent step is to search out a design for your tattoo's look. There are several aspects to this, with the most necessary being subject, style, and use of color. Whereas the final choice is up to you, there are several popular and common styles and designs to contemplate.

Tribal pieces are the among most well-liked tattoo designs for men. Typically uncolored, these designs feature thick angular black lines in dramatic patterns representing strength and masculinity. The first tattoos of this kind were from Polynesian, Maori, and Aztec tribes and commonly worn by their fighters, though nowadays the fashion is worn by anyone.

Crosses and other religious symbols are traditional subjects, as they serve as enduring symbols of hope, faith, affection, or remembrance. They are typically thought to provide a relaxing spiritual assurance and a link to divine protection.

Tattoos honoring heritage, such a Celtic knots or alternative Celtic design, are symbols representing one's history, making sure that family roots are never forgotten. Design-wise, they're usually richly coloured and highly detailed.

Skull art designs represent the dark aspect of tattoo culture. they typically signify death and danger and anger and toughness, and evoke stereotypical images of bad dudes in motorcycle gangs whom it is best to steer clear from. Or, additionally, skulls might represent the philosophical symbolism of one's own life and are, in a way, a celebration of life.

Tattoos of pin-up girls, those scantily-clad or naked girls in alluring poses, are usually used to represent an appreciation toward confident and brash females who exude sex appeal. These tattoos were first in style among soldiers away at war, reminding them of who was anticipating them back on the home front.

Asian styles, such as Kanji symbols or dragons or koi fish, celebrate the culture and mysticism of the Orient. These styles symbolize guardianship, empowerment, wisdom, and freedom.

Words, like names, sayings, and quotes are all highly personal designs that have unique meaning the person who wears the art. They are typically meant to bring inspiration, celebrate a milestone life event such as a marriage or the birth of a child, or to honor the memory of a passed love one.

Picking The Designer

So now you've finally made sure that you are ready get a tattoo design, have an idea where you would like it to be placed, and what style of style you want it to be, it is time to go visit your chosen tattoo parlor and talk over with the artist who is liable for adding a permanent and personal piece of art to your body.

Many sites are looking for good designers and some of the sites also offer tattoo design contests allowing participants to make good money. You can also opt for the old fashioned way and open a tattoo studio to start your business. However, this would be a much riskier proposition since there will be tremendous costs involved with opening your own business and then you have to attract clients and maintain their patronage in order to see profits flowing.

If you choose to work online, check with sites that you find interesting, the ones that offer best deals for designers offering custom tattoo designs. You may have to provide some samples of your work with a view to prove how skill and creativity as a tattooist. Custom tattoo designs have a large market and by joining an online business, you can offer them to customers across the globe.

Once you have signed up with companies online, you may submit your work on their site and as customers choose to buy your designs, you'll get the payment and those designs will be displayed on the site to promote your work. Additionally, if you have signed up with a site that offers tattoo design contests, you can earn way more by creating designs that win and best match the client expectations. This way you don't just get good money but also come to be known as the winning designer and become a renowned artist within the tattoo industry.

The custom tattoo designs are unique and popular but don't make the mistake of overpricing them for that reason. If your tattoos are too expensive, you may get very little business because of the severe competition online.

As a new tattoo designer, you will need to do a little research to see where your tattoos fit within the overall picture. Even seasoned designers adjust their prices to fit the market. Unless you have a collection of incredible custom tattoo designs that no one else has, there is a moderate price structure that needs to be followed. And as you build a good clientele by doing more work, and exposing your skills, you can start adjusting your prices to generate more income.

Do You Know the Pros and Cons of Tattoo Design Contests?

Tattoos are a form of body art that people have been using for self expression around the world for ages now. Though there are endless tattoo designs available on almost every possible subject, tattoo enthusiasts prefer to have something which is more personal and truly reflects their individual personality. Since every client's personality and their requirements in a tattoo are different, having a tattoo design contest can be a great idea.

Before you plan to start a design contest or participate in such contests in the capacity of a designer, you must be aware of the pros and cons of having a tattoo design contest. There are some great advantages of having a design contest but there are some things that one must know when starting the contest.

Following are the pros of a tattoo design contest:

1. New Designs - A contest like this allows the designers to come up with their best designs that are not only original, but also take in every single requirement of the client. Every contest has a theme and all designs are based on the tattoo ideas and personal preferences of the client. So, if you're looking for a range of freshly created designs to choose from, starting a tattoo design contest is the best deal for you.

2. Creativity - The designers bring out the best in them in terms of creativity and experience while designing tattoos for their clients. It is a great opportunity for them to showcase their creative genius keeping in mind every single requirement of the client.

3. Classes - Since a tattoo design contest is started by individuals with specific requirements, contest holders are free to define even the location on the body where the tattoo needs to be placed. For example; tattoos for the ankle, upper shoulder, neck, lower back, and arms and it can be quite interesting and a lot of fun to see the various types of tattoo designs that participants come up with.

4. Color - Use of colors in a tattoo is another skill that comes from knowledge and experience. If the client has specified colors that the designer thinks will not look good or may cause problems on the skin, the designer can discuss this with the client and convince them to make subtle changes in the color scheme. For example; pastel colors, vibrant colors, monotones or black and white; whichever goes well with the concept of the design.

5. Prizes - A pre determined prize money is an incentive for the designer to present his best work of art. The designer can use the winning design to promote his work and the client can show the winning designs to recommend the designer to friends or those interested in getting tattooed.

6. Judges - The people judging the contests are unbiased and are not told about either the designer's forte or which design is created by which designer.

7. Sponsors - Many contests are sponsored by agencies that promote their own tattoo studios/ designers. They even encourage the artists to do some really creative work.

Here are the Cons:

1. Cost - The cost of hosting a contest can be very expensive depending on where it is held.

2. Disputes on unique designs - With millions of designs available, it can be difficult to prove that a certain design is completely unique. It is virtually impossible to go through all the designs that are in the market.

3. Judging - It can be difficult to find unbiased and professional judges. It can also be expensive to have to pay their travel and living expenses.

4. Organization - The contest must be well organized and the classes and categories must be clearly defined in the rules. It can be a lot of work to ensure that every aspect of the contest is fair and has no appearance of being biased to one artist's work over another.

It's a lot of work to host a tattoo design contest, but it can be a huge success when everything is well planned and thought out. Before the contest, make sure you know the pros and cons of hosting a tattoo design contest and take a look at all the aspects to make sure it's completely worthwhile.

Easy Ways To Get Tattoo Designers For Less Money

There are a number of studios across the country that offers inexpensive services by tattoo designers. You should be very careful when searching for a custom tattoo design in these kinds of studios. Everyone wants a bargain when looking for a tattoo, but in this case, getting a bargain just to save a little bit of money may not be the smartest thing to do.

You want a designer who is skilled enough to create you a custom tattoo design that will be something you can wear with pride. If you want something that has vivid colors, sharp delineation of the drawing, and something that fits your personality and body type, custom tattoos are the best option for you.

Not only are there concerns about the quality of a custom tattoo design, there could also be severe health concerns when going in for a 'low budget' traditional studio services. Have the used needles been thrown out? Is the studio clean?

There are a number of issues that could become problematic if you are seeking a tattoo designer by price alone. This is, obviously, not to say that all artists who don't charge higher prices are bad, but as a consumer, you need to be aware of the pitfalls associated with the lower spectrum of designers. Some are not as scrupulous as others so don't let price be the only factor in deciding where to go. You need quality and professionalism; don't sacrifice any of that for money. It might be easy to get a designer for less money this way, but it certainly isn't the smartest.

Another option for getting a designer for less is the online tattoo sites. Many sites offer design contests where you are the one who determines the price of the winning design. Designers submit their work to you and you get to choose the winning design. This is the most effective way to get a custom tattoo design at a very competitive price and pretty much ensures that you get a high quality design from a professional tattoo artist at the best price.

Most of the tattoo sites have over thousands of artists working with them to provide their clients; with the best that tattooing as an art has to offer. With so many tattoo artists they have, you literally have access to thousands of options when searching for that 'perfect' custom design. And, if you've created your own tattoo design contest, you have professionals giving you their best to get your business.

When thinking about options for finding a talented designer for the best price, consider all the options you have. You may find the best tattoo designer at a traditional studio if you're lucky, but that way, you will be limited to a physical location. Sometimes it could be a shot of luck to find a professional tattoo artist that is not only inexpensive, but also does high quality work.

Using an online tattoo website gives you access to more designers and if you start a tattoo design contest, you have designers from across the world, creating their best designs for you to select.

You are more likely to get a fantastic custom tattoo design when you have as many options as you do online with hundreds of designers to choose from.

Matching Tattoos: How to Get It Right

Agree on a design and stick with it. Picking out a great design that everyone in your group will like is a tall order. Each individual has his own criteria for beauty and even friends don't agree on everything all the time. When getting matching tattoos, it's important to get a unanimous vote on which pattern to use as each member of the group is staking his own flesh and skin in the process. And once a design has been agreed on, it's essential that everybody stick to it. It's pretty common for people getting tattoos to change their minds in the last minute especially when they see other artworks.

Pick a symbolic design. Tattoos were originally done to represent tribal membership or a personal characteristic like bravery and wisdom. It's still practiced today and it's a wise move for people getting matching tattoos to pick a design that symbolizes what the group is all about. If you pride yourselves as a free spirited bunch then choosing a bird tattoo sounds perfect.

Use the same artist for everyone. Consistency is the name of the game when trying to duplicate an artwork or a drawing which is ingrained in every tattoo artist's mind. This is why it's really important that only a single pair of hands should be allowed to do the inking on your hides. Why? It's because you don't want to have matching tattoos that barely resemble each other or worse end up with different versions of your chosen design.

Choose a professional tattoo artist. Getting ink done on your body the proper way takes special skills and the right knowledge. It's why you should let a professional skin artist do the job. Before choosing a design or letting anyone touch your skin, you should see to it that you've entered a licensed tattoo clinic and not some dim apartment with a tiny sign outside.

Also be wary of artists that charge way below the standard rates. They may be using recycled needles and dirty instruments that can give you lethal diseases like HIV and hepatitis. You may want to save a few bucks but it's not worth your life or your friends'.

Pick matching tattoos that look great on you. And by great we mean beautiful; a design that you and your buddies can still admire even after 20 years. If you have no clue on what a beautiful tattoo looks like try browsing the bird feathers design pages; ornate patterns can look amazing on the skin more so if a tattoo master is going to do it. And you can be sure everyone will like it as these designs are practically timeless - a real classic beauty.

How To Win Tattoo Design Contests In 5 Easy Steps

Tattoo design contests are gaining huge popularity among tattoo enthusiasts these days with the rising trend of flaunting custom tattoo designs. Celebrities from the sports worlds, fashion industry and Hollywood are coming up with tattoos that display their success, despair, budding relationships and even break ups are fast catching people's eyes. This has led to a healthy competition between tattoo artists as they are getting requests to create designs that are unique to an individual's taste but also in line with the latest tattoo trend.

Not only are such competitions convenient means to discover fresh and unique custom tattoo designs, they also serve as a platform for the tattoo designers to showcase their talent and earn good money. If you are a tattoo artist who engages in such online challenges, take into consideration these five tips to keep you ahead in online tattoo competitions.

Stay creative - Just because the idea is not originally yours, it doesn't give you the right to dish out unoriginal artwork. The people who set up tattoo design contests know their stuff, and believe me, they know the meaning of the word "unoriginal art". Don't just join an online contest for the sake of monetary gain. You are a tattoo designer because you love what you do and you are good at your chosen field. Don't let greed and love of money ruin your artistic expression.

Stick with the prize - This means never charge extra. Almost all custom tattoo sites have already become popular web destinations for tattoo design contests. Contest creators may stipulate prize money from 35$ to 500$. Winning $35 by submitting a custom tattoo design is a pretty decent amount. Whatever amount you win, never ask for more.

Be knowledgeable with different tattoo styles - As a tattoo artist, you should hold yourself responsible for training yourself in various tattoo forms such as Celtic and Tribal. If you're only good at making butterfly impressions why not expand your expertise by training with other zoomorphic designs. Moving away from your comfort zone will allow you to evolve into a much better artist.

Be open to online criticisms - The person who created the online challenge is free to leave comments about the piece you have uploaded. If you don't like what he said, don't get your war face on and engage in an online testimonial battle against the person who has the power to give you the prize. Take all criticisms constructively. These guys are not talking about your personal life, they are commenting about your artwork. So to win a tattoo design competition, you need to stay humble.

Stay connected with the person who chose your design - If ever you got to be chosen among the hundreds of entries; do not congratulate yourself too much. That same person who chose you as the winner might hold another online tattoo contest in the future. Instead of pulling a "now you know me now you don't" act, stay connected with the person who spearheaded the contest. Follow up on him after having your tattoo imprinted on his skin. Who knows, he might choose you again on his next contest after recalling how sincere you have been in dealing with him post-competition.

Differences Between Custom Tattoo Designs and Traditional Designs

Tattoos have been around for centuries and there are a wide range of tattoos that are considered "traditional" designs and are still very popular with a lot of people. Then there are others who prefer to have their own custom designs created that reflect their own personality. It might leave you wondering as to what exactly is the difference between custom tattoo designs and traditional designs and is there a difference in their pricing and the time and effort that they take to come to life.

The "traditional" designs are generally characterized with a lot of black in it and minimalistic use of other colors. This is because, for many years the ink used for tattooing was not available in a variety of colors like it is today. The colors available were just basic colors like brown, white and black. With such a limited number of colors, many of the traditional designs consisted of just the black outline. A lot of these tattoos also were characterized with a ribbon with text on it such as an anchor with the name of the sailor's ship on it, or a pin-up girl with the girlfriend's name, or a heart with mom's name on it.

The "traditional" designs have an amazing variety of categories including angels, animals, flowers, crosses, pin-ups, skulls, military symbols, as well as zodiac and other tribal designs. These designs are all characterized with heavy black outlines and basic colors, but they can still be quite beautifully designed to keep up with the current trends and applied in a creative way to give a fresh and young look.

To differentiate "custom" designs from the "traditional" ones is a difficult task because both have their own importance and fans. The custom designs, on the other hand are unlimited in terms of ideas, designs, and even the placement of these tattoos on the body. Tattoo enthusiasts today don't mind having a tattoo on a body part that may be difficult to maintain, impossible to hide or painful to have tattooed. Hence, there are some basic steps that people follow in order to create their own custom designs:

1. Have an idea in mind for the tattoo design or theme and decide where it should be placed on the body.
2. Talk to some experienced and skilled tattoo artists and take suggestions/ advice on the specifications of the design and get it drawn out so that they know what exactly you want your tattoo to look like.
3. Get a tattoo stencil of the custom tattoo design created by a talented tattoo designer so that it is a one of a kind tattoo.

For those who are not artists, but want a custom tattoo done, there are millions of samples and tattoo designs available online that can be uses as a basis to create a custom tattoo. Think of finding one that is close to the idea in mind, and modify it to match your personal tastes and preferences. Sometimes that is done by combining elements from multiple tattoos to create that one-of-a-kind tattoo.

Also, consider colors that are to be used in your new custom tattoo design. Sometimes there are samples available in one color that can be changed to another color in order to make it more personalized.

Though there is a lot of difference between custom tattoo designs and traditional designs, there are some great traditional designs currently available as well as amazing new designs that people can create from their own ideas. Take a look at the wide range of styles, colors and patterns available to have ideas to ensure that the best custom design is created for you. There are so many styles available that the perfect design is not difficult to create. Good luck!

The Humor In Belly Button Tattoos

Tattoos have been around for centuries. Many tribes use tattoos as an expression of some sort. For example, some cultures will tattoo young boys when they turn a certain age. This is a representation of them entering man hood.

Where I live, in America, many people get tattoos for different reasons. Most of the time it makes a indicates a certain expression. Other times many people like the way it looks. There are many different designs that represent many different things. Some people who get tattoos may have many different interpretations of what they think it means to them.

Tattoo placement is a one thing that has caught my eye in the last week. Belly button tattoos are catching my eye more. I see a lot of people who get tattoos on their belly button, get it to be humorous. I start thinking maybe these people are more in the tattoo for the humor instead of the making a statement of some sort.

Different Kinds Of Belly Button Tattoos

You can really get creative with belly button tattoos. What I see most people do is make designs that make the image look like a butt-hole. I know this sounds funny, but I see it all of time.

I have seen a design of someone's belly button used as Bart Simpson's butt-hole. I have also seen a design of a women and...well use your imagination. I have seen others, I can go all day naming them.

However, I have also seen belly button tattoos that are not gross, and look very beautiful. I have seen a flower type of design around the belly. There people who like to get a star around it as well. This is obviously not for humor purposes, but because it looks good. It may also be that they are trying to make a statement in some way as well.

Is it Safe to get a tattoo on or around your navel area?

I have talked to many people who have belly button tattoos, and asked them how safe it is. Does the tattoo designer know if it safe or not? Can you infect the navel area by accidentally going inside the navel? the answers I have gotten, is that it is safe. It just as safe as getting one on your arm or anywhere else. You can get just as infected anywhere else you place a tattoo on your body.

You can view some different types of belly button tattoos and see what you like. There are some many to choose from. You can have it customized and get what ever kind you desire.

Butterfly Tattoos - Creature of Spirituality

There is the notion that each individual has a spirit. This is the unseen and intangible yet vital to human existence. This concept is virtually universal and is widely embraced by many. This key idea in almost every society is also the subject of much consideration and symbolism. To this end, certain creatures are used to represent it. This has given rise to butterfly tattoos being used for this. The creature butterfly tattoos become more than just a piece of art. It serves a more meaningful purpose than that. Every tattoo is more than a patten found on a person's body.

The small fluttering creatures that butterfly tattoos are based on are closely associated with the soul of man. Both Western and Eastern cultures make this connection. From the Irish and Greeks to the Mexicans, Africans and Japanese, all share this idea. This notion is not confined in a few but is virtually found within the belief system of every community. The colorful body art this constitutes is used to represent and refer to the human soul. This is regardless of perspective chosen.

Butterflies have a wondrous uniqueness. They are determined yet fragile creatures. They naturally are made for change, and this makes them dynamic and diverse. No one is certain of the detailed nature and attributes of the soul. However, this can be inferred from the usual manifestation of it - personality. The variations in these are the same as that of butterflies and thus butterfly tattoos. Each pattern closely mirrors not just the creature it recreates but also the depth of the human spirit.

There are many considerations, which can be the basis of associating butterfly tattoos to the idea and value of the human spirit. Setting aside the creations of certain societies and religions, almost everyone has an idea about the soul. The universality of this idea gave rise to the symbolism behind butterfly tattoos. Insight from a careful observation of the life of a butterfly supports this. Its magical change from a crawling thing into a beautiful flying creature is similar to the transcendence of the soul that everyone aspires for. Individuals who believe in this usually have this tattoo.

In many cases people opt for the butterfly tattoo since they believe in the exodus of their spirit from the time of birth to their eventual destiny. In the idea of certain Oriental beliefs, the human spirit is meant to go through the tangible world and find enrichment and the attainment of its purpose. This is mirrored by the pupa evolving into a butterfly.

The choices to get butterfly tattoos by people usually are motivated by the spiritual meaning of the said pattern. They strongly believe in the human spirit that they would want the creature that embodies it etched into their skin. This may even be an unconscious thought, but it is still something worth considering. Butterfly tattoos are a very open and direct proof that a person has connections to his spiritual side and understands the value of the same.

All About Gemini Tattoos

Individuals born in the time frame May 21st to June 20th are given 'Gemini' as the zodiac sign. People who fall under this zodiac sign are considered great at adapting to changing situations and never go off-beat. This is the simplest Gemini description. Gemini tattoos are considered very popular among tattoo enthusiasts. Before we get to Gemini tattoo designs, we have to understand first the various intricate characteristics of the Gemini zodiac sign and what it signifies.

The Gemini sign depicts a pair of twins who are called Castor and Pollux. According to ancient Greek myths, Castor was a mere mortal whereas his brother was an immortal god. Pollux was immortal and wished to spend more time with his brother. Legend has it they both spent half their time on earth and half in Olympus, the mythical birthplace of the gods.

Pollux and Castor were males, but if you look at modern-day Gemini signs, sometimes they are depicted by a pair of female twins. Gemini zodiac is also representative of hands and arms as well as the nervous and respiratory systems. Gemini is usually associated with the colors yellow and light blue. Gemini-themed flowers include azaleas, lilies and lilacs.

Gemini are generally communicative people with a penchant for gossiping, social interaction and conversation. They are in essence, social butterflies. They tend to be intellectual and can easily fit from one group to another given their adaptive nature. They love traveling and can't stand staying at one place for too long. They are the life of the party and like to entertain everybody.

Since we are now aware of Gemini characteristics we can have a rough inkling of what popular Gemini tattoos look like and what message they convey about their wearers. Most Gemini tattoos consists of depiction of the 'twins' as well as the word 'Gemini' itself. The gender of the twins is interchangeable and that further enhances the Gemini appeal.

These Gemini tattoos represent all or some of the characteristics of the Gemini individual. They can be social, ardent travelers and adaptive. Some cool Gemini tattoo ideas and designs include portrayals of loved ones, especially when the tattoo getter is a Gemini themselves and their inked designs closely resemble their personality. Other Gemini designs include a zodiac tattoo combining two signs, such as two signs of a couple, that represent the union of two different individuals into one cohesive unit.

Choosing a Laser Tattoo Removal Facility

As a Fort Worth Native, you may love the good ol' days of the Texas Cowboy: rodeos, round-ups, and open plains. If you have a tattoo, however, you probably don't want to resort to tattoo removal by the same means as those used by the 1800's cowboys on the prairies of Cowtown. Sure, cooking beans in a cast iron pot over a wild campfire overlooking the Trinity River sounds fantastic, but what about scrubbing off that tattoo with a sandstone rock or having "Ol' Cookie" use a branding iron to burn it off? Doesn't sound so appealing! Fortunately for 21st century cowboys and cowgirls, tattoo removal has made some major advances. One of those advances came when lasers made their way into the medical field.

The big question today, however, is how do you select a laser tattoo removal facility? To put it simply, it gets confusing in a hurry when you try to start looking up information on the web.

Laser tattoo removal itself has come a long way since its onset in the late 1980's, when pulsed lasers made laser medical procedures a reality. Since then more and more research has been done to determine just what frequency and wavelength is required to remove tattoos. With different lasers at varying wavelengths and frequencies, great accuracy can be achieved in removing a wide variety of colors. So how the heck do you make sense of it all?

Here's how you choose:

1) Make sure they're using the right Laser for the job. With so much research out there you would think that every laser facility from Sundance Square to Will Rogers Memorial Center and beyond would be using the right laser. Unfortunately that is not the case. With so many lasers on the market, each designed for a specific procedure, it is tough for the consumer to know which one is right for their particular laser procedure. As far as tattoo removal goes, one of the cutting edge lasers available is the Astanza Trinity.

The Astanza Trinity Nd:YAG and Ruby Q-switched laser is used for complete tattoo removal as well as removal of a wide variety of skin discolorations, such as age spots, sun damage, freckles, and birthmarks. This laser targets pigment and nothing more. It pulses more intensely with more heat and at 1/1 trillionth of a second pulses than a hair removal laser. By comparison, a hair removal laser has a longer pulse length (1/1000 of a second) and less heat/intensity. A hair removal laser will heat the tissue for a much longer period of time as it's goal is to kill the hair follicles. A tattoo removal laser needs to heat the ink just enough for the pigment to shatter. If a hair removal laser was used for tattoo removal, scarring would be extremely common. Unfortunately, many facilities use a hair removal laser to try and remove tattoos. With a little research, Fort Worth residents can be confident that the right laser for their procedure is available.

Here's a tip: if you are getting your tattoo removed by a laser and seeing no results after 1 treatment, they're probably either using the wrong laser or don't have it calibrated properly.

2) Do they offer free consultations? An FAQ page on a website is a great start, but it is no substitute for sitting down with a certified laser specialist and asking questions yourself. Each person and each procedure is unique. You need to have the opportunity for the laser specialist to get to know you and your unique situation. The specialist needs to have time to inspect your specific tattoo or skin discoloration, and at least a minor health history needs to be taken. Though not many, there are some contraindications to laser treatment.

If the facility isn't willing to give you a reasonable assessment of treatment times and costs, be wary. Using the correct laser should get consistent results, so a well-trained staff member should be able to give a decent assessment upfront.

3) What is the Facility Like? While not as important as the proper laser and confident, friendly staff, another factor to consider when choosing a laser facility, is the atmosphere of the facility itself. Push come to shove, this is a medical procedure. If the facility is not representative of a medical standard, walk away. A legitimate laser facility will be overseen by a doctor and be aware of the cleanliness and atmosphere that needs to go with a healthcare procedure.

4) How well trained is the staff? And last but certainly not least, remember the aforementioned certified laser specialist? Although not required by law, you should look for a facility with at least one certified laser specialist on staff. You want to know that the person performing your procedure is knowledgeable and confident in their abilities and also comfortable working with the laser.

Make sure no matter where the facility is located that you are confident that their laser is the right one for your procedure and you are comfortable with the staff as well as the atmosphere of the facility itself. You want your skin to be healthy after your tattoo is removed, not look like you've been out riding the range for the last 50 years getting scarred and battered!

Whether you are just contemplating a laser procedure or are ready to get started, make sure you do some research. Ask questions, and be confident in the laser facility you choose. Salabrasion Tattoo Removal, Painful But Good, If You Have a High Pain Threshold!

Do you have a high pain threshold?

Salabrasion Tatu Removal for those with a High Pain threshold!

And, here is why.

Salabrasion tattoo removal procedures are one of the most effective, yet extremely painful, ways to remove unwanted tattoos. This process is fairly simple and can even be done at home. The cost is also well within budget, but the process must be done with sterile materials.

Those who wish to remove their tattoos with salabrasion should understand that, with this procedure, there are many risks for infection and scarring, not to mention that there are not many anaesthetics that can lessen the pain during the process.

The process has changed little over the years. The materials needed are table salt, clean water, an abrasive device like a wooden block in gauze or rough sponge. Each salabrasion session can last about 30 to 40 minutes each.

The skin of the tattoo and around it should be shaved of hair and cleaned. The salt and water needed to mix and applied to the skin of the tattoo. The abrasive device should then be used to scrub the tattoo until the skin has turned a deep red colour There may also be slight bleeding. Most of the epidermis and some of the dermis should be removed in this process.

After the skin has been scrubbed, it is an open wound that needs constant cleaning and protection. To heal the wound and remove the tattoo successfully, an antibiotic ointment should be applied and the area wrapped in sterile gauze. The gauze should be left on for three days. Once the three days is up, the gauze should be removed; salt and antibiotic ointment should be reapplied stringently!

Re wrap the affected area with sterile gauze and leave it on for three more days. After those three days, remove the gauze. The dead skin from the salabrasion tattoo removal procedure should be detaching from healthy skin taking the ink with it in the scabs. Additional salabrasion sessions may be necessary to completely remove all traces of the unwanted tattoo.

Salabrasion tattoo removal is one of the most painful and scarring procedures available.

Patients are exceedingly susceptible to large, unsightly scars and infection, which can delay tattoo removal and make the process even more painful. The salt has been said to act as an anaesthetic, but is not proven to be a successful one.

Because salabrasion tattoo removal is one that is not often offered in clinics, most patients choose to do this procedure at home with basic and cheap materials. Table salt, clean water, antibiotic ointment, a rough dermabrasion sponge, and sterile gauze can be purchased at most all general stores. For those who want to avoid large scars, scar removal cream has been reported to have some success and can also be purchased in general stores, but most salabrasion sessions have ended in large and unattractive scars.

The overall process of salabrasion tattoo removal is highly effective at a low procedural ost to the patient but with a high cost of pain & permanent scarring.

However, for those of you who may still be interested in this procedure, you will find additional information on our website, for this tatto removal procedure and others.

For those who really want the answers, this is it!

Dump the Most Popular Way to Get Tattoos and Opt for Tattoo Designers From Contest Sites

Technology, specifically the Internet, has changed so many aspects of our lives. From the way we pay bills to the way we watch television shows and movies, most of us spend a decent amount of our time on the web. Here's another thing you should use the Internet for: You should dump the most popular way to get tattoos and choose designers from contest sites.

Traditionally, the most popular way to get a tattoo was to go to a local tattoo shop, look through their giant art books, pick a design you like and then have it tattooed on your skin. Well, times are now changing. People use the Internet for everything these days, and so tattoo designers from all around the world have taken their skills to the Internet, too. You can look for a tattoo design, or get a custom tattoo design made especially for you using the web. Even designers can create and submit their designs online from the comfort of your home.

Instead of searching through books and magazines in a shop to pick a tattoo design, go online and do a search for 'tattoo design contest.' Tattoo design contests are how you can use technology to get custom tattoo designs based on your individual ideas and personal preferences.

Custom design sites allow you to participate in contests that take place, every now and then. Customers from anywhere in the world can register with these sites and start tattoo design contests as an attempt to find out designers who can create unique tattoos for them. When you participate as a designer, you'll get an idea of how much more convenient this process is than the traditional way. When you're ready to begin your contest all you have to do is, start a tattoo contest.

When you get a tattoo the old way, you're usually limited to designs that are available in the shops. When you host a custom design contest on a site, you have access to designers from all over the world. As the client, you offer a prize that goes to the winning designer. Usually, the more attractive the prize money, the more the participants there will be. Therefore, you'll have a lot more creative designs to choose from. On the other hand, if you take the traditional route, you'll have just one designer in the tattoo studio trying to convince you choose from a catalog.

The reasons people get tattoos are as varied as the people themselves. So, if you're ready to make an investment in terms of money, time, as well as a part of your body getting inked, you may as well dump the old-school tattoo search and browse the web. Tattoos reflect your personality, and you can't find a piece of your personality from a limited number of design options. Your personality will best be represented by having a designer create a work of art from your personal tattoo ideas.

So, if you wish to have a tattoo design that remains close to your heart as it is inked on your skin, take time and structure your thoughts in a way that gives you a beautiful tattoo design with the help of a professional designer. Good luck!

Five Warnings From Tattoo Designers/Tattoo Design Experts

Tattoos have become a craze in teenagers and young adults in the past decade, although this art has been appreciated and sported by people belonging to different cultures for centuries now. For many years, tattoos were predominantly seen on merchant marines, sported by sailors who traveled to ports around the world where there were tattoo artists creating magnificent designs, long before they became popular in America.

However, when it comes to selecting tattoo designs and having them inked on your skin, there are five warnings from tattoo design experts that tattoos enthusiasts should be aware of.

Check upon the quality of the design and reputation of the tattoo designer - Make sure the tattoo artist is skilled and experienced and doesn't use outdated patterns or old ink. There may be some designs where the quality is very low and the image is hazy, which sometimes even resembles an ugly rash on the skin rather than a beautiful design. These designs are generally less expensive, but remember, a tattoo is a permanent mark on the body, and cannot be easily removed. Most of the people who get a low quality tattoo usually end up regretting it.

Pay attention to the words or lines used in your tattoo - Be careful and think at least 10 times before you decide to put certain words or phrases in the design of your tattoo. Attitudes generally change as people grow up and realize that some words or statements are inappropriate and immature. So, refrain from incorporating any word, phrase or a statement that is not a part of your true personality or something that might hurt the feelings of those in your community. It's one thing to be a rebellious teenager and want to put abusive, slanderous, or foul language on the body as a statement, but as an adult and in a professional environment, it's simply unacceptable.

Choose the part of your body for tattooing with utmost care - Most designers recommend various locations on the body for specific tattoos, but they rarely recommend getting your first tattoo on the face, the top of the hands, or on the neck. The reason is that tattoos on face and neck are very hard to cover up if the situation requires covering them, such as a job profile where in tattoos are not allowed.

Give your tattoo and your body sufficient time to heal and recover - Make sure the tattoo artist provides clear instructions on how to take care of your tattoo and your skin before the tattoo heals completely. These include recommending an antibiotic cream to use in the first week after the tattoo is done, as well as washing it five times a day to keep it clean and avoid infection. They should also recommend keeping it out of the sun, and a moisturizer to use after the first week to prevent the skin from drying out.

Discuss your skin conditions with the tattoo artist before getting it inked - People who have extremely sensitive skin may consider avoiding tattoos. If they have psoriasis, or scar easily, they should avoid tattoos because of the likelihood of keloid scars making the area ugly and prone to more infections. Some people think getting a tattoo to cover a birthmark is a good idea, but check with a dermatologist first, and if it's not recommended, don't do it.

Getting a tattoo can be a great expression of the person, but when it's done without understanding the pros and cons of having a cheap tattoo from an inexperienced tattoo artist; it can be a real disaster. Take these five warnings from tattoo designer experts to heart and have a tattoo that you will cherish forever.

Why Airbrush Tattoos Are A Party Pleaser

Tattoos have become a fashion statement and it seems like everyone is sporting one or more tattoos. But getting heavily inked may not be everyone's cup of tea. Many people are put off with the perceived pain involved. Others are apprehensive about the permanence of tattoos.

Popularity of the Art Form

All this has changed with the popularity of airbrush tattoos. When done well, these tattoos look as good as the permanent ones and nobody can really tell without very close examination whether airbrush tattoos are real or fake. Now everybody who wants to can sport a tattoo.

The best part about airbrush tattoos are that they can be easily removed. So a lot of people get them done as a testing method before getting permanently inked. Airbrush tattoos have made a grand entry as a party pleaser, at private and public events and even on occasions and fun fairs.

The simplicity of airbrush tattoos

Instead of spending hours and a lot of money at a tattoo parlor, a person can simply get the short term version, only costing a few dollars. If uncomfortable with the results or the feeling of sporting a tattoo, it can simply be removed with some rubbing alcohol or baby oil.

People go to parties to have fun, socialize, eat and drink and fun. Having an airbrush tattoo artist at a party is a sure crowd pleaser. A partygoer will be tempted to try them and they are a great ice-breaker as well. A youngster will love to try out something new, something very much in fashion without having to face parental disapproval. An older person may want to experiment how it feels like to have a tattoo. Even seniors may love the feeling of getting an airbrush tattoo to be 'in'.

Enliven the party with airbrush tattoo artists

If you want to have a fun party, call some tattoo artists to work the crowd. They don't need a lot of space and they carry their own tools of trade, which are quite compact. People of all ages, men and women, will have fun selecting the design, colors and size of the tattoos that they want to sport.

Getting airbrush tattoos at a party can be a way of letting your hair down, experimenting and also getting attention. These tattoos may be small or cover large parts of the skin and they may be single colored to use a range of colors. Typically, they can last for a few days, are waterproof and take only a few seconds to be painted on.

The way an airbrush tattoo is applied

The airbrush tattoo artist first cleans the skin where the tattoo has to be applied, removing oils and dirt from it. Then he places the stencil and with the special airbrush spray pen, fills in the tattoo area. For more than one color, the process has to be repeated, the stencil must be carefully removed. Any over spray needs to be cleaned with alcohol swabs. Dust with setting powder or talcum powder to set the tattoo.

Simple single color designs can usually be done in a minute or so. Varied colors or large designs will take longer. However, this is nowhere near the time taken for permanent inked tattoos, which you cannot even imagine getting done at a party or event.

The tattoo artist can help make your party a success. People will talk about the tattoos they got at your party for a long time and their friends and colleagues will comment on the tattoos, too. This will add to the fun factor of your party.

This story was written by Ross D Taylor, on behalf of Cool Party Entertainment in Highlands, TX. They are known for their temporary airbrush tattoo services in the Houston area.

How to Cover Up a Tattoo for the Workplace

If you have tattoos and a job, you may be presented with the issue of having to cover them up while you are at your place of employment. For those of us with tattoos, the last thing we want to have to do is cover them up. After all, that was not the point when we got them. Unfortunately, many of us have employment that requires us to learn how to cover up a tattoo. So what is there to do? The following information may be helpful in learning how to cover up a tattoo for the workplace or how to hide tattoos before a wedding.

If you have a tattoo in an area that is normally covered by clothing, then you needn't worry. Simply wear clothing that is sure to cover the area completely with no chances of the tattoo being visible.

If your tattoo is small enough, you can possibly cover it up with a band-aid. However, many people have more than one tattoo, or the one that they do have is not small enough to be covered by a band-aid. This could be a solution; just remember, wearing a band-aid in one location for too long can cause irritation.

Your next option would be an Ace bandage. You can also use a sock with the toe cut out. If you are ingenious enough, you will find that there are many creative ways to cover up a tattoo if you value your employment. Keep in mind, however, that with either of these options, you may end up looking like you are injured and get many people asking you if you are okay. If you don't want that sort of attention, maybe it is better to try something else. Also, if you do use these options, bear in mind that you will have to wash them from time to time and these do not hold up well with multiple washings.

Another tried and true method for covering up a tattoo is makeup. There are several different types of makeup on the market that are actually meant for this exact use and are actually quite effective. At the same time, however, it can take a few minutes to apply it to get god coverage. Some products contain a setting powder and barrier spray to help stay on when you are playing sports or at the pool. Make sure to find a company that offers a satisfaction guarantee so you aren't stuck if the product doesn't meet your expectations.

If none of these options sound plausible to you, you can always just opt for wearing long sleeves. This may not be such a "hot" idea on a warm summer day, but it will fit its purpose. It will cut down on your working wardrobe, however.

So, what options are really left? If you are covering your tattoo because you actually don't care for it anymore, then you can always consider tattoo removal. This option can be painful, expensive, and in the end, not that effective. Whatever you decide, it has to be something that works for you.

There is one hindrance why other people like and thinks tattoo ideas for men and women are wonderful but they cannot have it on their skin. In my place, I live in the Philippines, big companies do not want to hire individuals who have tattoos on them. Even just a little tattoo, they will not consider it.

Before employment, they have physical checkups on the private doctors of these companies. They will let you remove your clothes and they will check if you have one. If you do not have, then you can proceed on the next step of application. For those applicants who have it, they will not consider their application and they will let you apply to other companies who accept applicants with tattoo. That is why other people do not like to have them.

There are so many different tattoo. The top tattoo designs are tribal, dragon, cross, star tattoos, lower back, butterfly, celtic, fish, Egyptian, gothic, armband and a lot more. But these are most of what they like.

Designs and selections continues to grow. That is because each day, there are additional designs that are coming out. Designers of tattoo continue to grow each day and most of them are high quality designs that are sometimes even purchased by tattoo shops. If you have a good design, you can also benefit from them. It will give you instant money as long as you show it to a shop and they can design it to any customer who likes it. You can even design it using a computer and sell it online. They use it for sayings or names of important people on their lives.

Tattoos ideas for men are most of the time, very meaningful. So before you go for a skin art, make sure that the design you choose is what you really want to have in your skin your whole life.

Have You Ever Wondered What A Custom Design Tattoo Is?

Tattoos are perhaps the most popular way for young people to make a style statement. A few years back, the tattooing arena was quite small, with common patterns and the inscription of names being the only designs or the most popular designs. However, there has been a significant change in the styles and tattooing techniques that have given tattoo enthusiasts as well as designers a bigger platform. Tattoos have also become unique.

Style, they say, is something unique/ special/ personal to every individual and everyone has personality traits or a certain lifestyle that they want should reflect in the tattoo designs they sport on various parts of their body. Following the designs/ patterns that have been on the scene for a long time, or blindly copying the tattoos of your favorite celebrities or football stars, is no longer the way. The latest trend is therefore custom design tattoos.

A custom design tattoo, as the name itself suggests, is a tattoo that you can customize to suit your personal preferences and tattoo ideas. The changes or alterations that you can effect in a design go far beyond simple color changes or its placement on your body. You can go for something that comes to mind and let the experts customize it to suit your looks. For example; you may want to have the initials of your kid/kids names incorporated into a tattoo design of your choice.

Online tattoo design sites have the option of providing one with a very original tattoo idea after asking for very few specifications from the client. Basic questions like where you want to place the tattoo, size of the area available, skin color, your main objective for getting the tattoo, whether you have any other tattoos on your body, etc. are asked. Based on this information, an experienced designer creates the best design for his/her client.

So, before you go about having a custom design tattoo, you should have some idea about the design and be very clear on what you want in a tattoo. The work thereafter becomes fairly simple. The designers that work with these sites are all individuals with a high quotient of creativity, and handpicked only after their flair in the tattoo designing field has been stringently tested. They understand exactly what the clients are looking for and can come up with an original design in a reasonably short period of time. Even though the price is a little higher than the regular ones that one gets in pattern books, they realize that clients wanting to get a custom design care more about exclusivity.

Now, you must be wondering as to how one can be sure that the design provided by the designer really suits them. Well, for every client who signs up to have a custom design tattoo, the tattoo design is not finalized until the client approves it. The rough drafts are made and are shown to the client, and are finally made only once they say a yes. So there is no chance of worrying about losing money over something you don't like. Once the design is finalized, it is mailed to you along with a list of names and addresses of tattoo designers who will help to get it tattooed onto you.

You can choose from the various categories like tribal art, butterflies, celestial motifs, ornamental and flowery patterns etc. If you wish to inscribe a name or a word, there are a wide range of fonts to choose from. So, go ahead and get yourself a beautiful custom tattoo design that reflects who you are.

Importance of Stencils for Tattoo Designers

A stencil is what helps a tattoo artist ink their customer's selected tattoo design onto their body. Since many tattoo designers are now working online and are catering to a worldwide market, stencils are becoming more and more important to let the clients have a design that they ordered or purchased on the web.

Tattoo designers can either set up their own website, or they can join another tattoo site that allows them to launch design contests. If they decide to run their own site, depending on the duration for which it has been up and running, the traffic to the site needs to be sufficient to draw in enough customers to make it profitable. If the artist's site is firmly entrenched and gets good traffic with a sufficient number of customers, then there will probably be enough work to make a lot of money.

Another option that can prove to be very successful for a tattoo artist is the tattoo design contest that is started by clients on various websites that offer the opportunity for designers to join in and participate. This can be very advantageous for new designers as well as the very experienced ones. Signing up is very easy and usually at no cost to the designer. Once signed up with a site, the designer is exposed to a client base that is huge. This because they get to take up projects posted by clients across the globe, no matter where in the world the artist may be located.

When an artist signs up with a site and competes for creating a tattoo based on a client's ideas and personal preference, one of the requirements is to send a stencil with the winning tattoo. The tattoo designer can take part in any number of design contests. These contests are a good way for the designer to get exposure to the latest trends and works of experienced and popular names in the industry. So even if the artist has their own site, joining a site offering tattoo design contests could be a good way for the artist to drive more business to their site.

In the internet market, stencils are the vehicle that gets a tattoo designer's work of art out to the public. An artist can have phenomenal designs but without creating the stencil to provide it to a customer, there is no way to create a following of loyal tattoo customers for the designer's work. The more a designer's work gets exposed, the more demand there will be for that particular designer to create more custom tattoo designs. This could be best utilized using a website that offers design contests because they are usually going to have a much higher customer base offering the designer more options to create custom design tattoos and getting a reputation for their skills.

Providing quality stencils is not only a necessity to get an artist's work to a customer, it is also required in a tattoo design contest. If a designer wins the competition by getting their tattoo design selected, not only will that artist send the design, they need to send the tattoo stencil as well, so that the contest holder can take the art and get it inked at their local tattoo shop. Then they will be wearing the artist's design and telling their friends how they got it and from whom.

How Laser Tattoo Removal Works - The Step by Step Process

Step 1: Schedule a Consultation

During consultation we will determine the best treatment procedure for your given tattoo as well as the number of treatments that will be required to remove it. Once the size and number of treatments have been assessed we will determine a per visit price and can begin treatment the same day. Treatments will be spaced apart 6-8 weeks to allow for ample time for the treated area to heal.

Step 2: Prepping the Area to be Treated through Laser Tattoo Removal

The area treated will be sterilized prior to treatment. The amount of energy (flounce/joules/jcm2) will be determined prior to each treatment as well as the spot size and treatment speed (Hz/hertz)

Step 3: Perform the Laser Tattoo Removal

To mitigate pain the preferred method is simply to cool the area during treatment with a medical grade chiller/cooler. During the treatment process the Laser light passes harmlessly through the skin targeting only the ink resting in a liquid state within. As the laser light is absorbed by the ink the heat crystallizes the ink changing the physical state from a liquid to a solid. The body's reaction to this change is to treat the newly crystallized ink as if it were a splinter. The body forces the crystallized ink towards the surface of the skin causing some of the tattooed skin to sluff off. While the blood stream and the lymphatic system metabolizes the ink form. There are no adverse effects on the liver or circulatory system from this process.

Step 4: Post Treatment

It is very common an all tattoos to experience blistering on the first one or two treatments with any wave length, this is normal and expected. With treatments from the 532nm laser blistering will occur following every visit again this is normal and expected. Unlike most other cases the blisters caused by the laser tattoo removal process should be drained with a sterile lancet and Aquaphore should applied immediately following drainage. The Aguaphore should be applied regularly following the treatments for two days or until the blistering stops.

While it is possible to see immediate results the majority of the time the fading occurs gradually over the 6-8 week healing period between treatments. It is important to keep the treated area out of direct sunlight and away from significant heat sources (Hot tub, sauna, steam room..etc.) for the first 48 hours following the laser treatment as any additional heat will slow the healing process and can cause blistering to worsen. Taking showers is not an issue.

Not following the prescribed aftercare procedures can lead to reduced effectiveness of the given treatment. As the laser is non-ionizing and non-mutating to cells the only chance of scaring from the treatment process is if the patient picks or scratches at the treated area during the healing process. Laser tattoo removal is very effective and will yield outstanding results if the prescribed post treatment care instructions are followed.

Dia De Los Muertos Tattoos

Dia de los Muertos tattoos- what are they and why are they significant? To help us understand what they are we need to break down the term into two distinct parts namely: Dia de los Muertos and tattoos. Most of us are already familiar with tattoos but just in case you don't know what they are - these are marks made on the human body with an indelible design. These marks are made by inserting pigments into punctures made on the skin by the use of an electric needle. That said; let us now look at the term Dia de los Muertos. As you might have probably guessed, this is a Mexican term that refers to the day of the dead. By the above breakdown we can now learn that the term Dia de los Muertos tattoos stands for marks made on the human body that are meant to honour their dead loved ones.

Before we shed more light on the significance of these tattoos we need to understand a bit of history about this "day of the dead" for us to be able to appreciate the relevance of the marks. Earlier on we revealed that the term Dia de los Muertos was a Mexican term that stood for day of the dead. The question now remains, how was this day formed and how did it come to be celebrated? To answer this question, we need to go back 3,500 years ago when a group of people known as the Aztecs lived. Back then, the Aztecs had a month-long celebration to honour their deceased. The celebrations were meant to welcome the spirits of the departed souls back to earth. It was in these celebrations that they would collect and display skulls. The skulls were meant to symbolize life, death and re-birth. These are usually the marks that are used to showcase that one has Dia de los Muertos tattoos.

Spanish conquistadors soon infiltrated the land that is currently known as Mexico. They believed in the Catholic faith and they tried to convert the natives (Aztecs) to abandon their rituals and pagan observance. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful. Unknown to them, their attempts to quash the ritual actually enabled it to evolve and even coincide with famous catholic holidays such as the All Souls day and the All Saints day. As the world continued to evolve the Aztecs were soon wiped out but their culture remained firm and evolved. Today, the people of Mexico commemorate their dead by bearing Dia de los Muertos tattoos on their bodies instead of collecting and displaying skulls as was the case with the Aztecs.

That said; here are a few things to keep in mind about the Dia de los Muertos tattoos.

· First of all, the tattoos mainly comprise of sugar skulls that are etched on the human bodies.

· Secondly, if you're not comfortable with the tattoo of a sugar skull on your body then you can remember your loved ones by embedding a tattoo of their portrait on your body, their favourite food and drinks and even their favourite toys.

· Finally, most of these tattoos are embedded into the skins of people starting from the 31st of October of every year, since this is the period that they believe that the gates of heaven open and the souls of the dead visit their loved ones on earth.

Dia de los Muertos tattoos continue to grow in popularity even though they face stiff opposition from Christians and Catholic followers. These tattoos are not showing any signs of dying down any time soon.

Do Tattoos Get Affected With Laser Hair Removal Treatments?

"Is it okay to have hair removal through laser beam treatments even with tattoos?" A common worry of aesthetic addicts regarding the conflict of tattoos, especially makeup tattoos with laser hair treatment. Well, if you consider getting a hair removal treatment via laser and have permanent tattoos on the area to be treated, then you might as well consider reading this article for beauty's sake... and for health's sake, of course.

You see, the interaction of the laser beams to your tattoos imposes risks. It is for the fact that the laser is attracted to the black pigment in your tattoo. Colored tattoos are not excused of this, they even get affected. The attraction of the laser beam and the tattoo pigment would cause an emission of excessive heat energy blasting from the beam to the dermal layers of your skin --- excessive heat energy released, more damage produced. Your tattoos may end up becoming discolored, as colored tattoos may turn to black, plus the formation of some blisters or even scars on top of your tattoo. Painful, yes! At the same time, a perfect ruin!

Your laser hair technician usually includes in the interview questions regarding existing tattoos. There is still a remedy to simply avoid the scarring, the blistering, and the ruined tattoos. Your laser hair technician will draw a large circle and put a mark, an "X", over the tattoo site with the use of a washable marker in order to avoid hitting the tattoo. But if the case does not permit an extension of even an inch for a line to be drawn and a marker to be placed, as in the case of lip liner tattoos, it would be that the hair on the upper lip cannot be treated. Well, it would then be better to leave the hair rather than having those black lip liners lying around and creating rather a big mess.

Some cases are different. For a few, mild effects happen. Hair laser treatment over tattoos would cause fading of the tattoos, leaving the spot blank and saying goodbye not only to those unwanted hair but to your money for the purchase of those tattoos. If the effect is not blistering, then surely at a seventy-five to a hundred percent, those tattoos of yours would, abracadabra!, disappear.

So if you plan to get this kind of treatment just to get rid of those unwanted hair, better be honest about all your tattoos to your laser hair technician --- may it be eyebrow liners, eyeliners, lip liners or any makeup made permanent through tattoos --- or else you'd end up looking like a clown in your ruined tattoos!

As long as you're informed, well-oriented with the expected and possible effects, then we'll have no problems at all. Just make sure you take all sides before you sign up for such procedures.

Or better if you're still planning for both procedures, getting a hair removal through laser treatment and a permanent tattoo, it would be safer to undergo the hair removal procedure first, get some recovery from the procedure then you can get yourself those tattoos that you've been dying for!
